An event photographer nobody notices.
Corporate party, conference, anniversary or gala. I photograph so that people keep talking rather than looking at the lens. First selection the next morning.

At an event the equipment decides nothing. What decides is how close you get to people without them feeling watched. The moment somebody notices the camera their face changes and the picture is gone. The good frames happen in the seconds between: listening, laughing at something just said.
In practice that means a quiet camera, fast lenses instead of a flash in the face, and knowing beforehand which three people absolutely have to appear in a picture. The evening directs the rest by itself.
