Hamburg is the third largest port in Europe, and the businesses around it are the reason most photography here happens: shipping lines, terminal operators, tug and pilot services, yards and several hundred suppliers. Almost all of them need pictures, and almost all of them are using the same ones they had five years ago.
Working here means dealing with access before light. Terminals are security areas, ships rarely stay long, and the useful angles are from the water, which needs a boat. The airport control zone covers much of the city, so any drone flight is cleared in advance. Arranged beforehand, the shoot day is spent shooting.
