Hannover Messe photographer.
Five days, twenty seven halls and machines that run. Pictures in which you can see the plant working rather than merely standing there.
Send an enquiry →Industrial shows are lost to the hall lighting
The halls in Hannover are high, the ceiling light is cold and slightly green, and every stand brings its own lighting, usually in a different colour. Photograph that without metering and you get images where the machine is grey and the faces of your stand team look unwell. That is why so many Hannover pictures feel unusable even though the stand was expensive.
So I meter stand by stand and area by area, and I bring my own light for the conversations, because the conversations are what gets used. The second point is the machine. An exhibit standing still looks like a model. If your plant runs a cycle on the stand, I schedule around it, because movement in the frame is the only proof that the thing works. And if the stand is still being designed, I can show it as a rendering first.
What comes out of the show
Stand design and planning
From the floor plan to the graphics. I plan the stand so it works with the hall rather than against it.
