Ship photographer.
The vessel under way, alongside, in dock and from above. For the annual report, the fleet list, the press and the website.

With a ship there is no second attempt tomorrow morning. She is alongside for three days and then gone, and the berth is already assigned. Whether she lies with the starboard bow to the sun is decided by the port, not by the photographer.
So I read the berthing plan and the forecast first and put the session where the two agree. Shooting under way needs a chase boat and a word with the bridge about heading and speed. That sounds like effort, but it is the difference between a photograph of a ship and an image that shows how big she is.
