Port Vauban holds more large yachts than any marina in Europe, and with them the captains and crew who decide when a boat can be photographed. That makes Antibes the practical centre of this coast: the work is agreed on the quay, not by email weeks ahead.
For a shoot it means flexibility matters more than planning. A berth frees up, the crew has two hours, and the boat is clean. I work light for exactly that reason, handheld and stabilised, with the drone only once the captain has cleared it and never over the moorings.
