Kos Marina is a straightforward charter base with an airport ten minutes away, and Bodrum is visible across the strait. Flotillas start here and the fleet turns over every Saturday, which is when boats are empty and can be photographed properly.
The islands nearby carry the film: the volcanic caldera on Nisyros, the fjord-like inlets of Kalymnos. Distances are short enough that a single day can produce running shots against three different coastlines instead of the same bay three times.
