Off Providenciales the bottom drops from three metres to a thousand right behind the reef, and from the air that edge is a hard line between pale blue and deep blue. A boat sitting on that line is the shot people come here for, and it only works with the sun high, when the light still reaches the bottom.
To the south lies the Caicos Bank, flat as a plate and barely deeper than three metres for many miles. For a large yacht that is a planning problem; for a drone it is a gift. Going in there needs current depth information and someone who knows the ground, not just a chart.
