Warnemünde has a subject every north German recognises at once: the lighthouse and the Teepott on the mole, with the open Baltic behind. A boat entering or leaving there is placed without a caption, and for regional dealers and clubs that is exactly the point.
The entrance is narrow and shared with ferries and cruise ships, which have right of way and leave a wake. So running shots are planned around the ferry timetable. In August the Hanse Sail arrives, and tall ships lie in the Warnow that are nowhere to be seen for the rest of the year.
