FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.
What I photograph and film, how a shoot runs, where I travel and what reaches you afterwards. Short and free of jargon.
Photo and film for boats
What do you photograph and film?
Boats and yachts, plus shipyards, charter fleets, ports and the companies behind them. Exterior on the water, interior on board, details, drone and film, all from one visit. What comes out goes straight into the listing, the charter page and social media.
Where do you work?
I am from Germany and I work worldwide. For photo and film I travel to your location, your marina or your yard, in the Mediterranean as readily as in the Baltic or in Florida. Travel, permits and the arrangements on site I organise myself.
How short notice can a shoot be?
Short notice is the normal case in this industry: the owner disembarks, the next charter boards on Saturday, and there are two days in between. Tell me your window and you get an honest answer on whether it works.
Which services do you offer?
Photography, film and drone, plus 3D renderings, trade fairs, websites and marketing. Each can be booked on its own or in combination. Most clients start with photo and film, because that goes into the listing immediately.
Which industries do you work for?
A lot of them. What stays the same everywhere: good pictures, a clear presence and someone who actually cares. A generalist agency has to learn all of that first. I bring that knowledge from day one and produce material that genuinely sells in this industry.
How do we start working together?
Just send me a message through the contact page or write directly to contact@jkkjerome.de. In the first conversation we work out where you stand, what you want to achieve and which services make sense for that. The first talk costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
What is JKK Jerome?
JKK Jerome is my studio for photo, film and 3D. My name is Jerome Kwamo, I am from Germany and I work for clients across Europe and beyond. No agency in between: you speak to the person who also shoots, flies and edits.
Photography and Film
What does a photo shoot with you include?
A photo session covers shots on board, in the harbour, under way and, if you want, in the yard. I photograph exterior, interior and details, and prepare the images for listings, website, catalogues and social media. You receive a finished selection you can use straight away. More on the photography page.
When is the best light for shooting?
The hour after sunrise and the hour before sunset. In that window the light is soft and warm, and reflections on water and gelcoat look refined rather than harsh. Midday light creates hard shadows and burnt-out decks. That is why I plan shoots consistently around those windows.
Do you shoot drone footage as well?
Yes. Shots from the air show the lines of a boat that stay invisible from the pontoon, and they place it in the context of water, coast and marina. Drone stills and drone film are a fixed part of my productions, both for listings and for brand films.
What kinds of films do you produce?
I produce brand films for dealers and yards, boat presentations for sales, short clips for Instagram and YouTube, and documentary formats about craft and refit. Every film is cut so that it carries the feeling of being on the water before the buyer ever steps aboard.
Do you also shoot in bad weather or in winter?
Yes. An overcast sky works like a huge softbox and is excellent for interiors and detail. Fog, rain and winter light can even give a boat a character of its own. All it takes is the right planning, and that part is mine.
AI and Digital
How does AI actually help in marketing?
AI helps wherever routine eats time: listing copy, image variants, answering enquiries, reading market data and keeping your online presence current. You win back time for the part no system can take over: the personal sales conversation and the handover at the pontoon.
What are 3D renderings?
AI visualisations show a boat in states that do not exist yet: a planned refit, a different upholstery colour, a new teak deck, or the vessel against a different backdrop. Buyers get to see a decision before they invest in it. Every visualisation is built on real photographs and checked by me.
What does AI sales cover?
AI sales means enquiries about your boats are answered automatically and immediately, at night and at the weekend too. An intelligent assistant handles the standard questions, collects the important details about the prospect and hands you qualified contacts. Nobody waits days for an answer any more.
Does AI replace real photography?
No. AI-generated images can add to real photographs, but they cannot replace them. A buyer who sees something different on site than in the listing loses trust. So I use AI for editing, variation and visualisation, while the foundation always stays real, professional photography.
What about data protection when using AI?
I set AI systems up so that customer data stays protected and GDPR requirements are met. We decide together which data a system is allowed to process, and you keep control over your content and your contacts at all times.
Social Media and Online Marketing
Which social channels are worth it?
Instagram and YouTube for emotional images and film, Facebook for the older audience with buying power, LinkedIn for yards and business-to-business. More important than the number of channels is consistency: two channels done properly beat five done half-heartedly. More under social media.
Do I need Google Ads?
If people in your region are searching for boats and your competitor sits at the top, the question answers itself. Google Ads puts you in front of buyers with concrete intent straight away. I plan campaigns with realistic budgets and clear numbers, so every euro works in a way you can follow. Details under online advertising and search.
What does SEO do for me?
SEO makes sure people find you on Google without you paying for every click forever. Whoever ranks at the top for searches like boat dealer plus region, or a specific boat model, gets a steady stream of enquiries. SEO works more slowly than advertising, but it builds lasting value.
How often should I post on social media?
Regularity beats frequency. Two or three good posts a week, held consistently over months, do more than daily posts that stop after three weeks. I build a plan with you that fits your working day, and I produce the material so the plan actually holds.
Can you run my channels completely?
Yes. From strategy through the production of photos and films to planning and publishing the posts, I can look after your channels end to end. Alternatively I build you a system your own team runs, and stay alongside you as an advisor.
Website and Online Presence
Do I need my own website, or are portals enough?
Portals bring reach, but there you stand in a row with every competitor, and the prospect data belongs to the portal. Your own website is your shop window, your trust anchor and your source of enquiries you own. The best strategy uses both: portals as feeders, your own site as the destination.
What makes a good website?
Fast loading, strong images, a clear presentation of your boats and easy ways to get in touch. On top of that a clean technical base for Google and a structure that leads visitors to an enquiry. A good website is not a digital brochure, it is an active salesperson.
What is a digital showroom?
A digital showroom presents your boats online the way a good salesperson would present them on site: with film sequences, photo series, detail views and every relevant piece of information in one place. Prospects experience the boat before they travel, and arrive at the appointment with real intent.
Do you also improve existing websites?
Yes. Not every website has to be rebuilt. Often better images, clearer copy, faster loading and a clean structure for Google already bring a noticeable jump. I look at your existing site and tell you honestly whether an improvement is enough or a rebuild makes more sense.
How important is a Google Business Profile?
Very important. Anyone searching for a boat dealer nearby sees the map entries first, with reviews, photos and opening hours. A well-kept profile with current pictures and genuine reviews brings you enquiries without you having to run a single advert.
Working Together
How does a project with you run?
It starts with a conversation in which I understand your situation and your goals. After that you get a concrete proposal with services and scope. Once you agree, I plan the delivery, keep you posted at every step and hand you finished material you can put to work immediately.
How do you calculate your prices?
Every project gets an individual quote based on scope, effort and goal. You get a clear fixed price up front with no hidden items. That way you know exactly what you are investing and what you get for it.
What is the best way to reach you?
Easiest through the contact page on my website, or straight by mail to contact@jkkjerome.de. Describe briefly who you are and what it is about, and I will come back to you personally.
What is the best first step for my company?
An honest inventory. What do your listings, your website and your channels look like today, and what does a buyer find when they google you? That is exactly where every consulting engagement starts: I look at where you stand today and show you which move has the biggest lever.
Do you work remotely and internationally?
Yes. Consulting, AI, marketing and websites I deliver fully remotely, wherever you are. For photography and film I travel to your location, whether that is the Baltic, the Mediterranean or further afield. I work in German, English and Spanish.
Question not covered here?
Then ask me directly. Write to me through the contact page or by mail and I will answer you personally. The first conversation costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
