The Bodden waters behind Rügen are sheltered and shallow, often less than three metres. That makes them pleasant for interiors and drone work, with no sea running, and at the same time forces a fixed route for larger yachts. Nobody who does not know the depths goes in there on impulse.
The counterpart lies on the north east coast: off Sassnitz the chalk rises white out of the water, and a boat in front of it needs no further backdrop. The chalk coast is part of a national park, though, with its own rules on distance and aerial work, and those get settled in advance.
