Cannes Yachting Festival photographer.
The first big in water show of the season, six days in September. I live on this coast rather than flying in for the week.
Send an enquiry →A show where the boats float
Cannes is not a hall show, and that changes everything. The boats are in the water, the stands are tents on a mole, and the light is hard from eleven in the morning and then the best in Europe from five in the afternoon. A photographer who plans the schedule like an indoor fair shoots into the sun for six days.
So I build the schedule around the light rather than around the diary. Boats in the morning and in the last hour, stand meetings under the tent at midday, drone only early and only with the clearance, which in Cannes is tightly held during the show. And because I live on this coast I can also shoot the boat the day after the show closes, when she lies quietly in Port Canto and nobody is standing between the camera and the hull.
What comes out of the show
Stand design and planning
From the floor plan to the graphics. I plan the stand so it works with the hall rather than against it.
