Greece rewards aerial work more than almost anywhere: white villages against black volcanic rock, water that goes from turquoise to navy within a boat length, and coastline that only makes sense from above. It is also one of the stricter countries to fly in, because archaeological sites carry their own protections on top of the aviation rules.
That is the part worth planning. A hotel three hundred metres from a protected site, an island with a military installation, a harbour inside a control zone: each needs a different clearance and none of them can be sorted out on the morning of the shoot. I check the map before the flight is booked, not after.
