Portugal gives you something the Mediterranean cannot: Atlantic swell. Filmed from above, water that is actually moving reads completely differently to a flat blue bay, and for anything to do with boats, surf or coastline that difference is the whole point of flying in the first place.
Conditions are the trade. The same Atlantic brings wind, and on the exposed west coast the usable window is often the first three hours after sunrise before the northerly fills in. I plan around that rather than against it, which usually means being on site before the client is awake.
