Palma holds brokers, refit yards, charter companies and suppliers within a few kilometres of each other. For a shooting day that means several clients sit in one place and the trip only has to happen once. Three boats filmed in Palma do not cost three journeys, they cost one.
The island also supplies two different backdrops. In the south the water stays calm under a Tramuntana and the harbours look like business. In the north west the mountains fall straight into the sea, and that is the shot no marina picture replaces. Because boats stay afloat in Palma all year, this can be filmed in winter too, when the spring show needs material.
