Italy is the one market where the yard is usually the client rather than the broker. In Viareggio, Ancona and Naples boats are built, and a film there starts in the shed months before anybody sees water. That is a different discipline from filming a finished yacht in a marina.
It also means the schedule is not mine. A launch happens once, at an hour the crane dictates, and sea trials are the only chance to film the boat running before she is handed over. I plan around those fixed points and fill the rest, the detail work and the interior, around them.
